What is a Photo Request?
A Photo Request is created when a member requests a photo of the grave marker from a Find a Grave memorial.
How do I request a grave photo?
Select 'Request Photo' from the memorial that you're requesting a volunteer to photograph. You can include an optional note with details about the request and have the option to share your email address with photo volunteers. Please enter location or other information that may help the volunteer in fulfilling the request. Select 'Send Request.' The request will be sent to volunteers near the cemetery and added to the photo requests on the cemetery page.
Can I add additional information when I request a grave photo?
Yes. When you request a photo, add any additional notes you'd like to provide the volunteer. Location information will help the volunteer fulfill the request.
How many photo requests can I make?
You may make up to one hundred requests within a seven-day period.
How do I remove a photo request that I created?
Sign in and select in the upper right corner. Select the Trash can next to the photo request to remove it.
Why has my Photo Request not been fulfilled?
Depending on the cemetery location and the number of volunteers in the area, it may take a few weeks or even longer for a photo request to be fulfilled. Contact the cemetery office to obtain the plot location to help volunteers fulfill the request.
Can I request a grave photo if the memorial already has a grave photo?
It's possible that a photo could be requested on a memorial that already includes a grave photo. When this occurs, it's a common courtesy to add notes stating that there is already a grave photo and the reason that you are requesting a grave photo. Some possible reasons that this might occur are readability, photo quality, season of photo, stone has changed since that photo or the original photo did not include a GPS location.Learn more at Questions about Photo Requests.
