What is a virtual cemetery?

A Virtual Cemetery is a collection of memorials found on Find a Grave grouped for whatever reason the member wishes. You can use a Virtual Cemetery to bring together members of a family who are buried in different physical cemeteries, to group members of a high school graduating class or military unit, to collect famous or interesting memorials or however else you like. You can navigate to your list of Virtual Cemeteries from the profile dropdown menu under Virtual Cemeteries or from your Profile page. A Virtual Cemetery can be public or private.

How do I manage my virtual cemeteries?

From your profile or from the profile dropdown menu select Virtual Cemeteries. From here you can select Edit to edit the virtual cemetery or the trash can to delete the virtual cemetery.

How do I create a virtual cemetery?

From the Profile dropdown menu select Virtual Cemeteries. Select 'Add Virtual Cemetery.' Select a name for your virtual cemetery and add an optional short description. Choose whether the virtual cemetery is public or private and then click 'Save.'

You can access your Virtual Cemeteries through the Profile dropdown menu under 'Virtual Cemeteries.' They are also linked and the list is accessible from your Profile page.

Can I share a virtual cemetery via social channels or by email?

Yes, you can share a virtual cemetery in the same way that you share a memorial. Go to the virtual cemetery and select the 'Share' button. Choose an option to share it socially or via email. Sharing the virtual cemetery sends a link to the virtual cemetery along with a brief notification. The virtual cemetery needs to be public in order to share it.

Can I add memorials to a virtual cemetery on another Profile?

No, a virtual cemetery is created by the member that manages it and only that member can add memorials to the virtual cemetery on their Profile.
