What does it mean to sponsor a memorial?
Sponsoring a memorial is a way to honor and recognize the individual who passed away and show your support to family members. When you sponsor a memorial page, the memorial has a premium layout with larger photos. Your name is highlighted as the sponsor on the memorial and on virtual flowers that you leave, or you can choose to not display your member name. Sponsoring a memorial page permanently removes the ads from the memorial, at a cost of $10 (USD), and allows the sponsor to add 10 additional photos to the memorial.
How do I sponsor a memorial?
1 Go to the memorial and select ‘Sponsor this page' or the button 'Sponsor and Remove Ads.'
2 Choose a method and fill in the fields for payment of the sponsorship. You can click on 'Preview Memorial' to see what the sponsored memorial layout will look like after the sponsorship. Choose whether to display your member name or not display your member name on the sponsored memorial. Select ‘Sponsor Memorial' to complete your sponsorship.
How do I hide my member name on a memorial that I already sponsored?
This can be edited at any time. Select Edit or Suggest Edits on the memorial. Then use the toggle button to hide your member name. It will automatically save after you move the toggle button.
More Information
The manager will receive an email about the sponsorship. Only one sponsorship can be processed at a time. There is not a way to process sponsorships in bulk on site.
If you would like to sponsor a memorial, but don’t want to use a credit card, we do accept payment by check. Send your check to the address below and be sure to include a note with your email address and Find a Grave member ID letting us know that the money is for sponsoring memorials.

We will add the check amount to your member account as 'Gravebucks,' which can be used to sponsor memorials. For instance, if you sent a check for $50 along with your member ID, then we would add $50 in Gravebucks to your account and you would receive an email notification. Your Gravebucks account balance appears in the General section of the Account Settings page.
To use your Gravebucks to sponsor a memorial, select 'Sponsor this page' or 'Sponsor and Remove Ads' on the memorial page, then check the 'GraveBucks Balance' option next to 'Payment Method.' Select 'Sponsor Memorial.'
Photos on a Sponsored memorial
We've made updates to display the photos in a larger format and also display more of them on the memorial. The cover photo is designed to feature the individual. There are four other photo containers next to the cover photo which display photos in our photo sort order or the order in which you arranged them. Image resolution for cameras has improved year after year. If there is a cover photo with low resolution, please choose or upload a new cover photo for your sponsored memorial. If you are the manager and a family member contacts you with a request about setting a cover photo, please show sensitivity and try to help with those requests. Another option is to transfer management so the family member can choose the cover photo and update the memorial.

If you don't see 'Sponsor and Remove Ads' then it is likely the memorial is already sponsored or that an adblocker is blocking this button.
How do I remove a saved credit card?
Go to any memorial that is not sponsored. Select 'Sponsor and Remove Ads.' If you have a saved card, choose the card from the dropdown menu. Select 'Delete Card.' Then 'Confirm' the removal.
Is there an option to view all sponsored memorials with the previous standard layout?
Go to your Account Settings and select Site Preferences from the menu. You can choose the standard layout or the premium layout from there.
