How do I create a hyperlink to another memorial from within the biography?

You may need to link a child to grandparents whose parents are still living or a cenotaph to an actual burial memorial. It's simple to link to another Find a Grave memorial from the biography. When editing or suggesting an edit for the bio field, add the text that will display (this is often the individual's name) and then highlight it. Select the link symbol in the editor and add the URL for the memorial in the field provided, clicking save. Scroll down and Save Changes. Here are step-by-step instructions with screenshots.

1. Type the text that will display (this is often the individual's name) and then highlight it.

2. Select the link symbol in the editor

3. Copy the URL from the memorial you are linking to

4. Paste the URL into the link field and click Save

A link to the memorial is created within the bio information field. Scroll down and Save Changes.

If you are linking to another type of page on Find a Grave, the process is the same as outlined above, using the specific URL.

Use the same instructions as above and create a hyperlink within the bio field on the Suggest Edits page for the memorial. It's a good idea to verify the correct memorial is linked by clicking on it before sending.

When the manager reviews this suggested edit, it will display as the clickable hyperlink, as seen here:

You can view the link you sent in your Suggestions I've Sent queue. Locate the bio edit you sent and click on 'compare.'

Use this same process to send suggested edits that link cenotaph and actual burial memorials together. This is explained with more detail in Cenotaph and Monument Information.
