How to Transfer a Memorial

Transferring a memorial to another member is a permanent action. If a manager is not related, we encourage the memorial to be transferred to someone who is related when that is requested. Learn more about Request to Manage.

1       Go to the memorial page that you would like to transfer. There are two ways to transfer a memorial to another member. Select the dropdown arrow and choose 'Transfer Management.'

Or scroll to the bottom of the memorial and select 'Transfer Management.'


 

2       On the next page, enter the member ID # for the specific member and click 'Continue.' Be sure to double check the member ID # before completing the transfer. Their Find a Grave member ID can be found on the member's Profile page. Click on a member's name and you are taken to their Profile page.

To transfer a memorial to Find a Grave, enter the number 8 in the 'To a Find a Grave ID:' field. When Find a Grave manages a non-famous memorial members of the community can request management through Suggest Edits/Request to Manage.

3       There is a confirmation screen before the memorial is transferred. Once you select 'Yes, transfer this memorial,’ the memorial is transferred to the other member account. This action is permanent.
